What began as a vision to build a modern, sustainable agribusiness has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s emerging success stories. Desberia Mutara, founder of Deluxe Ranch, established the enterprise to demonstrate that agriculture can be both commercially viable and a powerful driver of community development.

Officially registered in 2020, Deluxe Ranch has evolved from a modest farming operation into an award-winning agribusiness spanning livestock, horticulture and poultry production. Today, the ranch cultivates six hectares of land using mechanised farming methods and manages breeding goats, sheep and broiler production, generating an average monthly revenue of USD 3,000 while creating employment for three permanent staff members and 20 seasonal workers.

For Desberia, success has always been measured by more than business growth. Through a nutritional garden that supports approximately 78 households, the ranch contributes to improved food security within her surrounding community.

“Leadership is about creating opportunities that uplift others while building solutions that last,” says Desberia.

Desberia’s entrepreneurial journey has earned her widespread recognition, including being selected as one of the winning exhibitors for the 2026 RLC-SA Virtual Alumni Exhibition Grant. She credits the RLC-SA programme with reinforcing her belief that successful businesses should create both economic value and social impact. This philosophy has shaped Deluxe Ranch into an enterprise that balances profitability with community development.
